LEFF2024  The Story Of Cyrano De Bergerac





As part of the highly anticipated French Festival 2024 in Kuala Lumpur, theatre enthusiasts are in for a treat as KLSP theatre troupe presents their adaptation of Edmond Rostand's timeless classic, The Story of Cyrano de Bergerac.

Set to grace the stage at the Damansara Performing Arts Centre (DPAC), this captivating production promises a fusion of English and French languages, offering a unique theatrical experience.

While primarily performed in English, the production features select passages in French, adding authenticity to the storytelling. This will be an opportunity for learners of the French language to find or discover new words and expressions. Suitable for audiences aged 10 to 12 and above, this adaptation promises to captivate viewers of all ages.

The production will run for four shows from June 27th to June 29th, catering to various audience preferences. Kindly find the schedule below:

School Audience

Thursday 27th June | 10am - 11.30am
Friday 28th June | 10am - 11.30am

General Public

Saturday 29th June | 3pm or 8pm

For general audiences, booking fees are fixed at RM50 with a RM20 discount for current AFKL members. In an effort to accommodate school groups, booking fees per person have been set at RM15, making it accessible for educational institutions to participate in this cultural event.

Kindly email us at festival@afkualalumpur.org with the name of the school, number of participants and their respective names.

Furthermore, in collaboration with the Embassy of France, two workshops will be conducted following each performance dedicated to a school audience. These workshops will only be accessible to classes who booked their tickets for the show. Indeed, once all the reservations are done, the French Embassy will select two classes based on their profile and motivation to participate in the workshops. Geared towards teenagers aged 14 to 16, this activity will focus on the expression of emotions, enhancing the educational value of the theatrical experience
