LEFF2024 Jack Cave at the Intergalactic Games Exhibition

As part of the French Festival, the French and Canadian visual artist Jack Cave will be joining us for an artistic residency from May 29 to July 14, 2024. This talented artist brings with him a captivating universe inspired by the world of comics and centered around the written account of his own space adventures.

His contribution to last year's visual art exhibition, where he transformed the entire AFKL hall with his textual art, received widespread acclaim. We are eager to extend his work to a wider audience in Kuala Lumpur this year.

More about Jack Cave and his works:

Designed like a comic without drawings, Jack Cave departed Earth to explore the vast expanse of the intergalactic universe. He embodies the spirit of an everyday adventurer, transitioning from the pages of comic books to walls.

Navigating a realm populated by shape-shifting aliens, colossal spacecraft, and intergalactic transit systems, Jack Cave encounters routine challenges like procuring a Blurp Cola from Santa La Sinueuse's sole convenience store (the ultimate party planet) or dodging coworkers in the mess hall of the imperial spacecraft.

These tales are crafted by painting words onto various surfaces. The narrative unfolds spontaneously, adapting to the canvas—whether it's walls, doors, or expansive sheets of paper. Each story emerges organically, with its conclusion and direction unknown at the outset.

Spaces, both physical and narrative, serve as compasses.

Jack Cave has participated in numerous art festivals, exhibitions, fanzines and comic books, both in Canada and France. Over the past decade, his life has been a blend of artistic pursuits, riding spaceships beyond outer space and teaching French in foreign lands.
