Alliance Francaise de Kuala Lumpur is  thrilled to announce that  Fête de la Musique, a vibrant celebration originating from France, will be coming back to KL! This year's celebration will happen at Titiwangsa. So, mark your calendars for Sunday, the 23rd, as we prepare to immerse ourselves in the joy of live music and the spirit of togetherness. La Fête de la Musique, also known as World Music Day, is an annual event that emphasizes the universal language of music and its power to unite people from all walks of life.

Amrita Soon

Amrita Soon crafts songs about love, heartbreak, and growing up, designed to tug at your heartstrings. With a guitar and soothing voice, her music captures the chaos of life. In 2024, she was an Official Showcase Performer at Folk Alliance International in Kansas City. Amrita has performed widely in Malaysia, Nashville, Nanning, and Okinawa, including The Bluebird Café and The Song Suffragettes. In 2022, she launched MY Songwriters Round in Malaysia, a quarterly series featuring local singer-songwriters. She recently co-wrote the theme for the Malaysian movie 'Rain Town.' Her lead single 'Glitter and Gold' from the 'Good Thing Going' EP topped Rakita FM's Lokalah chart.

David Pray

David Pray is a BOSE Featured Artist and winner of several awards during his 20-year music career in the US. Growing up in Tokyo and Honolulu nurtured a deep love of international culture and music. David studied classical guitar at the University of Hawaii and started playing ‘ukulele six years ago. Since then, the ukulele artist has performed in Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, France, Hungary, and Austria. David won the 2022 International Award from Japan’s ‘Ukulele 4 All Online Competition. His live performances feature a varied set list that spans generations and is always upbeat and romantic.

Harmony

Dara-Isabelle Mathieu, known artistically as Harmony, is a 17-year-old student from the Lycée Français de Kuala Lumpur. A junior at LFKL, she has been nurturing her passion for music since she began singing at the age of seven. With a talent for both vocals and guitar, Dara-Isabelle dreams of a future as a professional singer and musician.

Amir Alif 

Amir Alif is an independent singer-songwriter who debuted in 2020 and secure a distribution deal with Universal Music Malaysia Group. By performing around Klang Valley, he has headlined many events from Buy For Impact with Unifi, Merdekarya, Tswift MY, The Sunroom session, and many more. With the success of his debut album, Happy & Sad, he has now gained listeners from across the globe. With the help of Cendana funded the album, he managed to build up his brand to a broader audience. Amir Alif's songs are now being aired on repeat and charted on local radios such as Hitz and Mix FM. Amir Alif has not stopped working and currently working on the debut album deluxe version project titled, Happy & Sad (Obscure Hour).

An Honest Mistake

An Honest Mistake, led by Darren Teh (rhythm guitar), has been impressive since their debut in 2008. Despite numerous lineup changes, the band's knack for creating catchy tunes has evolved. The current members include Tomas Tam (lead guitar), Sonny Wan (bass), and Eugene Gerard (drums).

They were part of Universal Music Malaysia from 2016 to 2018. With five albums and tours across Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, India, Korea, Taiwan, and the Philippines, they've developed a versatile sound, from pop to emotional ballads and easycore. They've shared stages with international acts like Mayday Parade, Boys Like Girls, and Against The Current. With new material on the way, blending pop rock, acoustic, and hardcore influences, catching An Honest Mistake live is a must.


Suehaila

Suehaila, an R&B and soul singer-songwriter from Kuala Lumpur, has been enchanting the indie music scene since 2017 with her smooth vocals and original songs. She has performed at events like the Riuh! series, Fête de la Musique 2022, and Sunny Days Festival 2022, and has appeared on TV shows such as Borak Kopitiam and Fresh Brew. Her debut single “Sad Blue Eyes,” released in 2021, has been played on Hitz FM and Rakita FM. In November 2022, she featured in an ad campaign for Good Virtues Co., which included the digital release of her track “Serlahkan Serimu.”

Keith Kamalaraj & The Casualties 

Keith Kamalaraj & The Casualties are a five-piece rock band from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Active for nearly six years, they write, record, and perform original music that captures the essence of rock 'n' roll with both fierce and tender melodies. The band features Keith Kamalaraj on lead vocals and guitar, Timothy Achariam on drums, Jay Ridzwan on rhythm guitar, Azlan Ramli on bass, and Ravi Rishyakaran on keyboards.

They have performed at various venues in Kuala Lumpur, including The Back to the Blues Festival at the KL Performing Arts Centre in February 2024. Keith Kamalaraj & The Casualties are a powerhouse of classic rock 'n' roll!

Dani Komari 

Dani Komari is a Malaysian singer-songwriter known for her vintage-sounding voice and blend of Jazz, Blues, Soul, and R&B. Starting her music journey in 2015, she has performed widely in Kuala Lumpur. Her singles "Circles" (2019) and "If You Stay" (2020) earned her recognition, including “Hitz Homegrown Artist of The Month.”

Dani has played at festivals like IP Jazz Festival, JB International Arts Festival, and Publika Jazz Festival. She has collaborated with top Malaysian musicians and international guitarist Robin Banerjee. Recently, she has been working on new collaborations, voice-over projects, and serves as the Brand Ambassador for Fred Perry Malaysia.swy

Faye Faire

Faye Faire (pronounced with silent E’s) is a Malaysian folk-rock band founded by Alena Nadia and the late I-Shan Esther in 2022, based in Kuala Lumpur. Joined by Azim Zain and Isra Gomez, they topped the charts in January 2024 with their single "Siren," which was shortlisted for the Anugerah Lagu Indie.
Faye Faire, with a female-fronted lineup, draws influences from The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Radiohead, Elliott Smith, and Boygenius.


DBKL Kombo

DBKL Kombo, the band of Kuala Lumpur's town hall, will deliver an exclusive performance at this year's Fête de la Musique! Joining them on stage will be special guests, including the renowned singers Farhan, Ito Gang Blues, and Simon Justin.


N-9ine

N-9ine Band features Halim N-9ine (vocalist/guitarist), Jessica "Babychel" (vocalist), Zayyed (vocalist/guitarist), Dzul (bassist), Papa Jay (bassist), Harits Agustin (pianist/keyboardist), Afeeq Aiman (pianist/keyboardist), Zack (drummer), E-Pit (drummer), Muaz (saxophonist/flautist), Kyrie (violinist), and Hasrul (sound engineer). This experienced and respected band has performed across Malaysia for over two decades, including a recent stint at Hard Rock Cafe Kuala Lumpur (Jan-Mar 2023). They've entertained at private functions for Shell, Petronas, F1 Sepang Paddock Club, and more, and are available for annual dinners, product launches, roadshows, showcases, house parties, festivals, and weddings. Their versatile repertoire includes pop, rock, contemporary, fusion, and jazz, catering to all kinds of themed events.
