Game Jam Laut is a friendly competition in favour of ocean preservation, funded by the Embassy of France and supported by seven Malaysian
Universities. In 2024, in four different locations across Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, Sarawak, Terengganu, and Penang) eleven enthusiastic
teams, including each a young researcher in marine sciences, developed amazing video game prototypes.
Four teams were selected for the final phase of the competition: Pian the Penguin, Reefenders, MeltPoint, and Marine Plastic Buster – and
they received technical and financial support to refine their games over a 9-week period. The results are outstanding! On
April 12th,
the public at AFKL will get the unique opportunity to meet the finalist teams and give these amazing games a try!
