LA FÊTE DU CINÉMA D'ANIMATION
The Fête du cinéma d'animation aims to raise public and media awareness of "frame by frame" cinema, and thus help promote films and their creators. Its genesis and launch are linked to World Animated Film Day, celebrated on October 28 in homage to Émile Reynaud, pioneer of stop-motion "film", and in commemoration of his first public screening of animated strips at the Musée Grévin in Paris, on October 28 1892. Every year, the event takes place simultaneously in hundreds of towns and cities across France, and in cultural networks abroad.
